Creating and Editing Routes from the Overview

Introduction

Zones and Routes can be created directly on the map in the Overview screen of the platform, using tools that allow the user to create their own polygon shapes. Zones can also be created in Administration, using GPS positions, and pre-selected shapes. Please refer to that article for a description of the types of Zones available, and how they function in the platform.

Creating and Editing Routes

One is able to Draw (create), Edit and Remove Routes from the Overview Page:

1. Select the "View More" button on the Map Toolbar to view options
2. Click on Routes
3. There are three options, Edit Route, Draw new Route and Remove Route

Editing a Route

Once Edit Route has been selected as above, you will be able to Edit Routes in the Map View:

1. Use the Search feature to find the route you would like to edit
2. Click on Routes
3. Move the map and adjust Zoom levels to centre the Route you would like to edit
4. Click on Edit Route and select the Route from the list provided
5. Drag handles to edit the route
6. Edit Name, Cost Centre and Group if required
7. Click on Save

Draw a new Route

Follow these steps to create or a new Route from the Overview Page (Map View)

1. Click on the View More (Map Tools) Button on the top right of the map.
2. Navigate to the area on the map, and zoom to an acceptable level
3. Select Routes
4. Click on Draw a new Route 
5. Click on the map on the first point of the Route and then the rest
6. To complete the Route, click again on the last point (drag handle) or "Finish Drawing"
7. The Route details can now be captured
8. Click on Finish

Remove a Route from the Map View

Routes can be removed from the Overview or Map View:

1. Click on the View More icon on the Map Tools
2. Use the Search Feature to find the Route you wish to delete, or move and zoom accordingly
3. Select Routes
4. Click on Remove Route
5. Save or Cancel
